Hot

It’s summer. And it’s hot. Really hot. So we have been having some fun in the water.

We’re using a lot of water, but it’s worth it. The kids are getting some exercise and refreshment outside… Aside from being a bit mischievous.

Mini Mastadon

The annual Mini Mastadon competition was held this last weekend. Two competitors showed up from the Kirby family. The Negotiator did the whole thing.

The Negotiator got wet, but enjoyed himself. He’s getting pretty fast!

Week of 5/30 – 6/5

It is summer now with all the flowers in the yard blooming.

Black locust trees:

Mom made a clover bracelet while waiting for the Negotiator to finish the test.

And we have a lot of peonies blooming.

We are finding many critters around house too.

We found a bunny family in the yard. Hope tried to chase one of the babies, and the baby was a bit scared. After it seemed calmed down, we let it go. And there were three more baby bunnies!

Mom saw a baby skunk.

Science Olympiad

The Negotiator participated in his first Science Olympiad Competition.

He represented the school for the Potions competition. As luck may have it, he didn’t win an award. He was a little disappointed, but it was a fun experience. We’ll try again next year!

Camping

Summer is here. And that means camping! For the Memorial Day Weekend, we took some time to check out a campsite alongside Michigan’s beautiful Lake Huron!

The campsite was nice – pretty quiet, and the weather was great. There was a fire pit, and best of all, there was a nice beach where we could swim!

Of course, the Reader wasn’t only interested in swimming. He had his fair share of fine dining.

Hope enjoyed herself, as well.

Everyone had a great time. We are looking forward to camping, again.

Labor Day Weekend

Over the Labor Day weekend, we went to see Grandma and Grandpa. On the way back, we went camping to the Lake Huron.

The boys went swimming.

The water was still cold, but it was fun!
